Texas Legal Code
(a) On the recommendation of a juvenile court with jurisdiction over the holder of a provisional license, the department shall suspend a provisional license if it is found by the juvenile court that the provisional license holder has committed:(1) an offense that would be classified as a felony if the license holder were an adult; or(2) a misdemeanor in which a motor vehicle was used to travel to or from the scene of the offense, other than an offense specified by Chapter 729.(b) The department shall suspend the license for the period set by the juvenile court but not to exceed one year.(c) The court shall report its recommendation promptly to the department in the manner and form prescribed by the department.
