(a) A copy of the registration receipt issued under Section 502.057 for a commercial motor vehicle, truck-tractor, trailer, or semitrailer shall be:(1) carried on the vehicle when the vehicle is on a public highway; and(2) presented to an officer authorized to enforce this chapter on request of the officer.(b) A copy of the registration receipt is:(1) admissible in evidence in any cause in which the gross registered weight of the vehicle is an issue; and(2) prima facie evidence of the gross weight for which the vehicle is registered.
