Any peace officer may stop and detain a person who is a motorcycle operator or passenger to inspect the person's protective headgear for compliance with the safety standards prescribed by the department. Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.
