Mercury in schools After July 1, 2006, no school in Vermont may use, or purchase for use, in a primary or secondary nonvocational education program, any of the following: elemental mercury, chemicals containing mercury or mercury compounds, or mercury-added measuring devices. Other mercury-added products that are used by schools are not subject to this prohibition. No person shall bring elemental mercury onto the premises or into the buildings of schools located in Vermont, including child care facilities, preschools, kindergartens, and primary and secondary schools. (Added 2005, No. 13, § 1.)
