Guardian appointed for nonresident minor On the petition of a minor, not a resident of this State, or a person interested in the welfare of the minor, the court may appoint a guardian of the minor when it appears that the minor owns or has an interest in real estate situated in the State. (Amended 1985, No. 144 (Adj. Sess.), § 121.)

§ 2649.
