Forfeiture by person embezzling before letters issued If a person embezzles or converts any of the property of a decedent before the appointment of the executor or administrator, the person shall be liable to the executor or administrator of the estate for double the value of the property embezzled or converted, to be recovered for the benefit of the estate.
