Witnesses; fees In the discharge of his or her duties prescribed by this chapter, any member of the Board, a referee, and any authorized agent of the Commissioner shall have power to administer oaths, take depositions, certify to official acts, and by subpoena compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of books, papers, documents, and records, necessary and material to be used in connection with any disputed claim. Witnesses summoned by a member of the Board, a referee, or an agent of the Commissioner in proceedings within this section shall be paid the same fees as witnesses summoned to appear before a Criminal Division of the Superior Court in civil causes. Such fees shall be paid out of the Vermont Employment Security Board Administration Fund. (Amended 1959, No. 329 (Adj. Sess.), § 22, eff. March 1, 1961; 1961, No. 210, § 13, eff.
