Non-excepted interstate or intrastate status; certified medical status (a) On or before January 30, 2014, every individual who holds a commercial learner’s permit or commercial driver’s license shall provide the Commissioner the certification required under subdivision 4110(a)(6)(A) of this title. (b) On or before January 30, 2014, existing holders of a commercial learner’s permit or commercial driver’s license who certify to non-excepted interstate driving operations shall provide the Commissioner with an original or a copy of a current medical examiner’s certificate. Certification status of 'certified' will be posted on the Commercial Driver’s License Information System driver record for the driver. Failure to provide the Commissioner a current medical examiner’s certificate will result in the posting of 'not-certified' status to the Commercial Driver’s License Information System driver record for the driver, and a commercial learner’s permit or commercial driver’s license downgrade shall be initiated.
