In the event a bus registered for local transit or public transportation service is subsequently registered for general use during the same registration year, such fee shall be applied toward the fee for general registration. (b) As used in this section, a motor bus used in public transportation service is a motor bus used by a nonprofit public transit system as defined in 24 V.S.A. § 5088(3), and a motor bus used in local transit is a motor bus used entirely within or not more than 100 miles beyond the boundaries of a city or town.
