S.A. chapter 59, relating to the adoption of ordinances, except that if adoption of the ordinance by the Selectboard is conditioned upon approval of the voters of the Town, then the ordinance shall become effective upon a favorable vote by Australian ballot of a majority of those voting at a special or annual Town meeting. A vote to disapprove an ordinance under 24 V.S.A. § 1973 shall be by Australian ballot. A reconsideration, rescission, or validation vote pertaining to any of these votes shall be by Australian ballot. (Amended 2005, No. M-10 (Adj. Sess.), § 7, eff. May 1, 2006.)
