00 for a violation of any bylaw or ordinance. The penalty may be recovered in an action on the case upon this statute in the name of the Village, in which action it shall be sufficient to declare generally that the defendant is guilty of a violation of a certain bylaw, naming it generally, and under the declaration the special matter may be given in evidence. Nothing herein contained shall be construed as to prevent the Village from having such other and further relief as it may be entitled by law to compel a compliance with the bylaws and ordinances of the Village.
