Order of succession; Mayor to notify Chief Administrative Officer of his or her intended absence In case of a temporary absence of the Mayor from the City or the Mayor’s temporary inability to serve, the President of the City Council shall act as Mayor. It shall be the duty of the Mayor to give the Chief Administrative Officer due notice of the temporary absence of the Mayor from the City and of his or her return, and said Chief Administrative Officer shall duly notify the President of the City Council thereof. In case of the temporary absence from the City or temporary inability to serve of the President of the City Council, the City Attorney shall act as Mayor.
