Duties The City Council shall have such authority and responsibility relating to the management of the Cemetery Department, its services, and facilities, as provided by the general law of this State respecting cemeteries. The City Council may by resolution delegate all or a portion of such authority and responsibility to the Board of Cemetery Commissioners. The Superintendent of the Cemetery Department shall have the practical care and immediate supervision of the Cemetery Department, but shall be subject to the authority of the Mayor as Chief Executive Officer and to the orders and ordinances of the City Council.
