Purpose The District is created and shall exist for the purpose of providing for the efficient, economical, and environmentally sound management of solid waste generated by member municipalities and their residents. Initially the District will engage in a planning phase by exploring various solid waste management alternatives for its member communities, including recycling, resource recovery, and construction of lined landfills.
