Medical insurance (a) Promoters licensed in accordance with this subchapter shall carry medical insurance covering all contestants who participate in an event, including a sole match, conducted by the promoter. (b) The cost of the medical insurance, including deductibles and premiums, shall be borne by the promoter. (c) The promoter shall obtain medical insurance coverage in an amount to be determined by the Director in rules adopted in accordance with this subchapter that shall cover the expenses for the treatment of any injuries the contestant may suffer as a result of a mixed martial arts event. (d) The medical insurance coverage shall extend for at least six months following the date of the mixed martial arts event. (e) No mixed martial arts event shall be approved in the State unless the promoter is in full compliance with the requirements of this section concerning medical insurance coverage.
