D.S.' or 'D.M.D.,' that imply that a person is a licensed dentist when not authorized under this chapter. (b) No person may practice as a dentist, dental therapist, or dental hygienist unless currently licensed to do so under the provisions of this chapter. (c) No person may practice as a dental assistant unless currently registered under the provisions of this chapter. Prohibitions (a) No person may use in connection with a name any words, including 'Doctor of Dental Surgery' or 'Doctor of Dental Medicine,' or any letters, signs, or figures, including the letters 'D.D.S.' or 'D.M.D.,' that imply that a person is a licensed dentist when not authorized under this chapter.
