Commissioners—Appointment; term (a) The Secretary, with the approval of the Governor and with the advice and consent of the Senate, may appoint a commissioner of each department, except the Department of Libraries, who shall be the chief executive and administrative officer and head of the department and shall serve at the pleasure of the Secretary. The term of the Commissioner shall be concurrent with that of the Secretary or Governor. (b) The State Librarian shall be appointed as provided in 22 V.S.A. § 601. (Added 1971, No. 92, § 5(a), eff.
