Duties Such legal assistant shall perform such duties as the Attorney General directs and may appear in the trial or hearing of any civil or criminal cause in any court of the State on behalf of the Attorney General. Before assuming his or her duties, such legal assistant shall take and subscribe to the oath prescribed by the Constitution.
