Report of accidents; investigation The superintendent or manager of any line or plant, subject to supervision under this chapter, shall, immediately after its occurrence, notify the Department in writing of any accident that occurs within this State upon such line or plant that results in loss of life or injury to any person that incapacitates him or her from engaging in his or her usual vocations. If the accident is subject to investigation by VOSHA pursuant to 21 V.S.A. chapter 3, subchapters 4 and 5, the Department shall provide support as requested by VOSHA, and VOSHA shall, to the extent permitted by law, provide the Department with any information pertaining to the investigation that is requested by the Department. If the accident is not subject to investigation by VOSHA, the Department shall inquire into the cause of the accident and shall make any recommendations to the company and to the Public Utility Commission as appropriate.
