Indebtedness A municipality that has voted according to the provisions of this chapter to acquire or construct a municipal plant may incur debt for the purpose of establishing, purchasing, constructing, extending, or enlarging it, but subject to the provisions of law limiting municipal indebtedness. Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect the rights of any municipality now or later incurring debt under 24 V.S.A. § 1822. (Amended 2023, No. 85 (Adj. Sess.), § 404, eff. July 1, 2024.)
