Release of corporation from liability The liability of the corporation shall continue although the railroad has been abandoned, unless the town’s selectboard members consent in writing that the corporation be released from liability, or unless the corporation or its assigns restore the crossing to its original state of usefulness and permanency. The written consent shall be recorded in the record of deeds in the town clerk’s office by the selectboard members. (Amended 2021, No. 105 (Adj. Sess.), § 33, eff. July 1, 2022.)
