§ 572

Proceeds of sale of condemned vehicle or craft (a) From the net proceeds of a sale pursuant to section 570 of this title, the court shall pay all liens, according to their priority that: (1) are established by intervention or otherwise at the time the court enters the judgment of forfeiture or in other proceedings brought for that purpose; and (2) are bona fide and were created without the owner’s having any knowledge that the carrying vehicle was used or would be used for the illegal transport of alcoholic beverages or alcohol. (b) The court shall pay the balance of the proceeds to the State Treasurer. (Amended 2017, No. 83, § 90.)
