U.S. Virgin Islands § 703 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

Whoever, being a public officer, or person pretending to be a public officer, and under the pretense or color of any process or other legal authority—\n(1) arrests any person or detains him against his will;\n(2) seizes or levies upon any property;\n(3) dispossesses any one of any lands or property; or\n(4) does any other act, whereby another person is injured in his person, property or rights—\nwithout a regular process or other lawful authority therefor, commits oppression and shall be fined not more than $200 or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.
