U.S. Virgin Islands § 923 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

(a) Whoever commits murder in the first degree shall be imprisoned for the remainder of his natural life without parole.\n(b) Whoever commits murder in the second degree shall be imprisoned for not less than five (5) years, provided, that if such second degree murder was perpetrated upon a law enforcement officer while such officer was engaged in the performance of his official duties, the perpetrator shall be imprisoned for not less than ten (10) years.
