Whoever—\n(1) threatens another with the publication of a libel concerning him, or any parent, husband, wife, child or other member of his family; or\n(2) offers to prevent the publication of a libel upon another person upon condition of the payment of, or with intent to extort, money or other valuable consideration from any person—\nshall be fined not more than $1,000 or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.
