Any person not entitled to the possession of any animal who, without the consent of the owner of said animal and with intent to deprive the owner, temporarily or permanently, of the animal or its possession, takes, uses or rides said animal is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than $1,000 or imprisoned not more than one year or both.
