U.S. Virgin Islands § 71 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

Each member of the Legislature shall receive an annual salary in equal biweekly installments prorated from the date the member takes office to reflect the actual portion of the year the member actually serves, which salary shall be equal to the lowest annual compensation of the officers itemized in Title 3, section 29, Virgin Islands Code, as determined biennially on the date a majority of such members take office, provided, however, the President of the Legislature shall receive an additional annual sum of $10,000 which shall be payable in equal biweekly installments prorated from the date the member takes office to reflect the actual portion of the year the member actually serves. For authorized travel on official business within the limits of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico each member of the Legislature shall receive either: (i) a sum equal to his or her air travel expenses plus a per diem allowance in lieu of subsistence expenses not to exceed $30; or (ii) a sum equal to his or her lodging expenses plus a per diem allowance in lieu of subsistence expenses not to exceed $30.
