U.S. Virgin Islands § 551 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

Whenever any person under the age of 18 shall violate any law or regulation relating to the use and operation of motor vehicles, a police officer may deliver to any such person a traffic ticket describing the nature of the offense with instructions thereon to report to the Superior court of the district wherein the offense occurred. Upon the appearance of a person under the age of 18 years before the court, the court shall, after hearing and investigation, take action as provided in section 550 of this title, or may dismiss the proceeding if it be found and determined that it is for the best interest of the person so to do.
