(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, the provisions of this chapter are severable. If any provision of this chapter or its application to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this chapter which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application.\n(b) The provisions of section 237(a)(3)(B) of this title are nonseverable. If any provision of that paragraph or its application to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the remaining provisions or applications of this chapter are void.
