There is hereby established within the U.S. Virgin Islands Police Department (V.I.P.D.) a Police Recruitment Bonus Award. A cash award of $1000 shall be paid to all police officers who have successfully and satisfactorily completed their third anniversary of their employment with the Department which employment commenced on or after the date of enactment of the act creating this section.
