(a) Applications for license shall be sent to the Board at least six weeks prior to the date of the examination and shall be accompanied by satisfactory proof that the applicant—\n(1) Is twenty-one years of age or over;\n(2) Is of good moral character;\n(3) Is not addicted to intemperate use of alcohol or narcotics;\n(4) Is a graduate of a four-year college of podiatric medicine which has been accredited by the American Council on Podiatry Education of the American Podiatry Association.\n(b) There shall be no minimum residency requirement for persons applying to take the examination.\n(c) The residency requirement specified in subsection (b) of this section shall not apply to residents of the Virgin Islands who have been abroad studying or practicing podiatry.\n(d) This section shall not apply to individuals seeking preceptorship programs, internships and/or residency programs for the purposes of research and/or additional training in the field of podiatric medicine, providing that these individuals are approved by the Board of Podiatry Examiners.
