U.S. Virgin Islands § 317 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

Any person or corporation who violates or fails to comply with any provision of this subchapter or who makes any false statement in connection therewith or who gives false identification shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars ($2,000) or imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months, or both and the person shall be subject to forfeiture of his business license. If, however, the value of the property is in excess of five thousand dollars ($5,000), the penalty shall be a fine of not less than five thousand dollars ($5,000) or imprisonment of not less than one year and not more than five years, or both and upon conviction of a second or subsequent offense within three years of the first offense, not less than $2,000 nor more than $4,000.
