U.S. Virgin Islands § 121 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

Documents affecting real property, which are required or permitted to be recorded, shall be recorded in the office of the recorder of deeds in the judicial division in which the property is located. If a document affects real property located in both judicial divisions, it shall be recorded in both offices. No deed shall be recorded by the recorder of deeds unless proof, in writing, is submitted that all property taxes due relative to the real property being conveyed have been paid. Such proof shall be obtained from the Department of Finance for a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
