(a) The Bureau shall exercise general control over persons arrested, detained, or sentenced by a court of law in accordance with the laws applicable to correctional institutions or rules properly promulgated.\n(b) The Bureau's costs of operation must be financed by the Legislature based on a budget submitted by the Director.\n(c) The Bureau shall perform such other duties and exercise such other powers as provided by law.
