The Director of Personnel is authorized and directed to develop a program for the employment of senior citizens, which program shall be subject to the approval of the Governor. The program may include part-time employment with departments, agencies, or instrumentalities of the Government of the Virgin Islands, compensation at per diem rates and in a manner which will be consonant with continued eligibility for benefits under the Social Security System of the United States, as well as under the Employees' Retirement System.
