Except when a different amount is prescribed, the following fees shall be paid in advance for certified copies of public records:\n(1) For making a certified copy, 75 cents for the first 300 words or part thereof, and 15 cents for each additional 100 words or part thereof.\n(2) If the record is in a foreign language, $1.00 for the first 100 words or part thereof.\n(3) For comparing for certification a copy furnished by the applicant, one-half the fee for making a copy.
