U.S. Virgin Islands § 151 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

The Legislature hereby declares that—\n(a) It is in the public interest to establish a Public Broadcasting System in the Virgin Islands.\n(b) Such a System will advance the general welfare, education, cultural development and awareness of public affairs of all the population of the Virgin Islands.\n(c) Such a System will provide an effective supplement, by broadcast instruction, to the in-school education of the children of the Virgin Islands.\n(d) The powers and duties conferred by this chapter are for public uses and purposes and are proper governmental functions for which public money may be expended and private property may be acquired.\n(e) The provisions enacted by this chapter are hereby declared to be necessary in the public interest, and the facilities herein authorized are declared to be public improvements and public undertakings.
