(a) It is unlawful for a member of the Commission or any other officer or employee of the Commission to acquire any interest, direct or indirect, in a cable television company which has applied for or received a franchise from the Commission pursuant to this chapter, or to participate in any Commission action or deliberation upon such an application by a cable television company in which he owns or controls any such interest.\n(b) A person who violates this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be fined not more than $2,000 and imprisoned for not more than 60 days.
