U.S. Virgin Islands § 169 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

(a) The Deputy Commissioner of the Department may sell by public auction or otherwise dispose of any motor vehicles that are worn gut, unusable or obsolete to the extent that the motor vehicles are no longer economical or safe for continued use by the Government.\n(b) The Deputy Commissioner of the Department may not sell more than two motor vehicles under subsection (a) to any one person.\n(c) No motor vehicle may be donated to an employee or relative of an employee of the Government or any instrumentality of the Government. Nothing in this subsection precludes any employee of the Government or its instrumentalities from participating and bidding for a motor vehicle at a public auction, and the Deputy Commissioner of the Department may not by any other means prohibit any employee from participating and bidding for a motor vehicle at a public auction.\n(d) The Deputy Commissioner of the Department shall promulgate regulations not inconsistent with this section for the conduct of public auctions for the sale and disposal of motor vehicles described in subsection (a).
