U.S. Virgin Islands § 234 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

(a) No purchase shall be made by any department or agency of the government or by any employee of the government for any agency of the government except by written order approved by the Commissioner of Property and Procurement and issued in accordance with section 233 of this title.\n(b) Whoever violates the provisions of subsection (a) of this section shall be personally liable for the purchase price of articles purchased and shall be summarily dismissed from employment without regard to the provisions of chapter 25 of Title 3.\n(c) Whoever makes a purchase for any agency of the government without an order, as required under subsection (a) of this section, shall be fined not more than $200.
