(a) An otherwise eligible individual whose prescription drug costs are wholly covered by another plan of assistance or insurance shall be ineligible for assistance under the provisions of this chapter except that applicants to the Program who are insured under a private insurance policy with limited prescription coverage and who expect to exhaust such coverage may receive benefits under the Program from date that the private insurance benefit is exhausted. Verification from the private insurance provider that the maximum benefits have been reached is required before the applicant may be awarded benefits under the Program.\n(b) An otherwise eligible individual whose prescription drug costs are covered in part by another plan of assistance or insurance shall have the amount of assistance available under this chapter reduced by the amount of the other prescription drug cost assistance.
