(a) Peace officers designated in title 5 Virgin Islands Code section 3561 may issue appearance tickets for misdemeanor offenses committed or attempted in their presence.\n(b) Peace officers authorized pursuant to title 5 Virgin Islands Code section 3562 to arrest a person without a warrant for a misdemeanor offense may issue to and promptly serve upon the person an appearance ticket.
