U.S. Virgin Islands § 26 — U.S. Virgin Islands law

Whoever violates any provision of this chapter shall be fined not more than $100 or imprisoned not more than ninety days, or both.\nActs or omissions made unlawful by this chapter do not include any act of omission which violates the laws or regulations of the United States, but it shall not be necessary to allege or prove, as part of the case for the government of the United States Virgin Islands, that the defendant is not amenable, on account of the alleged violation, to prosecution under the laws of the United States. That he is amenable to such a prosecution shall be a matter of defense, unless it affirmatively appears from the evidence adduced by the government of the United States Virgin Islands.
