A. No lobbyist shall:\n1. Lobby in violation of the provisions of this article;\n2. Make any expenditure, or obligate himself to do so, in connection with lobbying, unless he fully discloses the expenditure as required in this article; or\n3. Misrepresent in any material respect or omit any information required to be reported pursuant to this article.\nB. No lobbyist's principal shall:\n1. Fail to file any statement required to be filed by the provisions of this article;\n2. Misrepresent in any material respect or omit any information required to be reported pursuant to this article; or\n3. Violate any of the provisions of this article.\nC. Except as provided in subsection D of § 2.2-426, any lobbyist or lobbyist's principal violating any provision of this article shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. However, a lobbyist who receives no compensation or anything of value for lobbying shall not be subject to the criminal penalties prescribed by this section.\n1994, cc. 857, 937, § 2.1-792; 2001, c. 844.
