Except as otherwise provided, this chapter applies to insurers transacting life insurance and the granting of annuities, and to life insurance and annuities as defined in §§ 38.2-102 through 38.2-107.1.\n1952, c. 317, § 38.1-431; 1986, c. 562; 1994, c. 316.
