Subject to the provisions of Chapter 5.1 (§ 32.1-162.16 et seq.) of Title 32.1, the Director may permit such prisoners as may volunteer to undergo experimental treatment or tests in state or federal medical research programs.\nCode 1950, § 53-57.1; 1962, c. 48; 1982, c. 636; 1992, c. 603.
