RCW 48.49.180Commissioner authority—Enforcement—Penalties.The commissioner is authorized to enforce provisions of P.L. 116-260 (enacted December 27, 2020, as the consolidated appropriations act of 2021) that are applicable to or regulate the conduct of carriers issuing health plans or grandfathered health plans to residents of Washington state on or after January 1, 2022. In addition to the enforcement actions authorized under RCW 48.02.080, the commissioner may impose a civil monetary penalty in an amount not to exceed $100 for each day for each individual with respect to which a failure to comply with these provisions occurs.[ 2022 c 263 s 19.]NOTES:Effective date—2022 c 263: See note following RCW 43.371.100.
