RCW 74.42.040Resident's rights regarding medical condition, care, and treatment.The facility shall insure that each resident and guardian, if any:(1) Is fully informed by a physician about his or her health and medical condition unless the physician decides that informing the resident is medically contraindicated and the physician documents this decision in the resident's record;(2) Has the opportunity to participate in his or her total care and treatment;(3) Has the opportunity to refuse treatment; and(4) Gives informed, written consent before participating in experimental research.[ 1979 ex.s. c 211 s 4.]
