The provisions of this chapter relating to the operation of vehicles refer exclusively to the operation of vehicles upon streets and highways except:(1) Where a different place is specifically referred to in a given section.(2) The provisions of articles three, four, five, five-a, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, eighteen and nineteen shall apply upon streets and highways as defined in section one, article two, chapter seventeen-b of this code.
