§ 30-8-14

(a) A licensee may prescribe: (1) Topical pharmaceutical agents; (2) oral pharmaceutical agents that are included in the drug formulary established by the board pursuant to section six of this article or new drugs or new drug indications added by a decision of the board; and (3) contact lenses that contain and deliver pharmaceutical agents that have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a drug.(b) An applicant must:(1) Submit a completed application;(2) Pay the appropriate fee;(3) Show proof of current liability insurance coverage;(4) Complete the board required training;(5) Pass an examination; and(6) Complete any other criteria the board may establish by rule.
